In collaboration with VIDS Corp., I served as the lead graphic designer and 508 specialist. For some projects I ensured that existing National Park Service documents—originally created by other designers—were fully 508 compliant for web publication. Additionally, for other projects, NPS provided the content, and I handled the entire document creation process from the ground up, ensuring accessibility from the start. Together, we completed a series of eight projects.
Ensure that existing documents are fully 508 compliant for web publication, allowing all users, including those with disabilities, to access and interact with them seamlessly. Additionally, take provided content and design comprehensive, visually engaging documents while maintaining strict adherence to 508 compliance and brand standards. The final deliverables must not only be aesthetically appealing but also fully accessible, meeting all requirements for web publication.
Successfully completed a series of eight projects, ensuring all documents met 508 compliance standards for web publication. Some documents were made compliant from existing documents, while others were designed from the ground up using content provided by the National Park Service. Each project resulted in a fully accessible, user-friendly document that met both visual and compliance requirements.
